An Exclusive Wine Vacation Cruise in Provence & Spain

With all the many choices in the world of travel and adventure, there is one that you may not be aware of. We are speaking of the latest offerings of the wine aficionado, the leaders in their field, the people who have dedicated their lives to bringing not only their fine wines to you, but discovering other wine worlds with you.

We are going to tell you about a vacation available to you if you would like an adventure into the world of wine, food and the regions of Provence, France and Barcelona Spain. For the second year Christopher Silva, President & CEO of St Francis Winery will host along with AmaWaterways Executive VP Kristin Karst, a seven night cruise of Provence & Spain.

During this cruise Christopher Silva will be sharing his vast knowledge and passion for wine with you, his guests. You will have opportunities for many wine oriented shore excursions, with visits to local wineries, where you will taste the wines of the regions, and meet the winery owners. Enjoy the fine dining aboard this luxury river cruiser, complementary wines, beer and soft drinks provided. Enjoy planned lectures and wine pairings aboard the ship between ports.

But wait! This isn’t just a cruise, it’s an adventure. And your adventure starts on November 11th 2012 with an overnight flight to Paris. After checking into your Paris hotel on the 12th you will enjoy a tour of the city of Paris on the 13th, visiting the Eiffel Tower, Champs Elysees, Place de la Concorde, and finish with a visit to the famous Notre Dame Cathedral. There are additional tours available for you to choose from on the 14th or you may strike out on your own. This evening you may also choose to go on the optional Parisian Cabaret Dinner Theater Excursion. On the 15th you board the TGV High Speed Train to Lyon, where you will first attend a Champagne tasting before embarking on your luxury cruise ship, the AmaDagio, and enjoy your Welcome Dinner.

Today you will enjoy a tour of Lyon, one of Frances most important cities and gastronomic capitals, and onboard wine lecture with Beaujolais evening on your way to Trevoux. The 17th will be a day of discovery tours in Trevoux, visiting chateaux and vineyards of the Beaujolais wine region and winery visits and tastings. Dinner this evening will be French themed with accompanied French wine pairings.

You will awake in the city of Vienne where you can enjoy a tour of the city or visit the Chateau Rousillion, and a wine lecture. Then on to Tournon where you start with a mini-train tour of the 1st Century Roman Temple of Augustas and Liva, the ruins of a Roman theater along with medieval churches of St Andre-Le-Bas and Abby St. Pierre. You will also spend some time tasting chocolates, tasting fine wines, and touring L’Hermatage Winery, followed by on-board tastings and wine lectures.

On the 20th you will have a choice of visiting the magnificent Papal Palace or a Grigan excursion, followed by a visit to Avignon and either a Chateauneuf-du-Pape wine tasting or Pont du Gard visit. Later that evening, you will attend the Captains Dinner onboard.

The 21st brings you to Arles and a tour of the village of Les Baux de Provence and later the Olive Farm visit, or “Van Gogh” walking tour which enjoys a visit to Saint Paul de Mausole Asylum.

The 23rd brings you to your final destination, Barcelona, Spain where you will spend two days venturing on one of the city tours, or a Tapas Boqueria Excursion, or one of many other optional tours.

On the 25th after a week of wine and adventure, you board your flight back home to tell all your friends, family and co-workers about the fantastic “Wine Cruise” you attended in Europe, and begin planning for next year’s cruise to its surprise destination.
